Soma Miller is a men's coach and curator of The Essential Man, a resource guiding men through everyday challenges with blog posts, encouraging quotes and writings. He is also the creator of a 90-day "Masculinity Re-Set." This program is helpful for men that feel a need for change and transition in their lives, but are unsure where to begin or how to identify the area that they are seeking to improve. Soma and I had never had a full conversation before this interview and I am so grateful for all of the wisdom and insight he was able to share. I felt so much synergy in our work. Andre Henry is a writer, speaker, and musician, deep passion for racial justice and social change. He has lectured at universities, worked with community organizers and activists, talked with renowned thought leaders on racial justice, and organized protests actions--all in an effort to be a part of a movement for racial justice. Lastly, Andre is the mastermind behind "Hope & Hard Pills", a community that believes in the power of anti-racism education, equipping folks with resources, and spreading hope. Part I of my interview with my Dad, Gary Brown.
Gary Charles Brown served as a Field Medic in the United States Army, successfully completing a tour in Vietnam in 1969. He has since owned his own business, consulted many of the largest health care systems in the country in the area of Risk Management and taught classes in Risk Management at the Graduate Level at Concordia College in Ann Arbor, MI. He is a proud graduate of the University of Texas and holds a Master's Degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. He has four children and lives a peaceful life in Michigan fishing, playing golf and riding his ATV throughout the woods around the lake by his house.
